Mary Burton Mulligan

Mary Burton Mulligan, 69, of Glastonbury passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022. She was the widow of John A. Mulligan.

Born in Germany, Mary was the daughter of the late Harold and Henrietta (Ward) Burton. Mary grew up in Glen Cove and Keene Valley and dedicated her 40-year career to the Travelers Insurance Company before retiring several years ago. She has been a resident of Glastonbury for eleven years and previously resided in Canton. She was an avid home crafter, and loved making quilts, clothing, and home goods. She will be remembered for her sharp intellect, love of learning, easy laugh, and deep love for her family.

Mary is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Katherine and Jonathan Marshall of Virginia, and Rachel and Michael Pickard of New York; and her grandchildren Ben and Sarah Marshall and Emma and Julia Pickard. Mary was predeceased by her twin brother, Frederick Burton.

In the spring, funeral services and burial will take place in Norton Cemetery, Keene, and a celebration of Mary’s life will be held in Glastonbury. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society. For online condolences, please visit www.mulryanfh.com.
