Barbara Lynne Touby

Barbara Lynne Touby was born on Nov. 11, 1945, in Dayton, Kentucky, to Blanche and Jack Watson. She departed this life on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, after a long, courageous struggle with cancer.

She was married to Clair Ross Touby in June of 1975.

She worked as a registered nurse at Adirondack Medical Center, Uihlein Mercy Center and High Peaks Hospice. Additionally, she worked as a clinical instructor at North County Community College. She also enjoyed her time as an actress and ticket manager at Pendragon Theatre, and her time spent working on the altar guild at St. Luke’s Church.

Barbara is survived by her husband Clair Ross Touby, daughter Caroline Kipp, and grandchildren Alex, Carter and Griffin.

She is preceded in death by Blanche and Jack Watson.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake.

A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 5 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Saranac Lake. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, seating in church is limited. Family and friends attending in-person funeral services are asked to please follow all COVID-19 recommendations, including social distancing and wearing a mask. Due to the extenuating circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Touby family understands that it may make it difficult to attend funeral services in person. For those unable to attend, the funeral service will also be webcast on Fortune-Keough Funeral Home’s Facebook page.
