Joseph F. Clauss, D.C.

On Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020, Joseph Frank Clauss, loving husband and son, passed away at the age of 31. Joseph was born on Feb. 1, 1989, the son of Joseph and Carolyn (Scarano) Clauss at their home in Plattsburgh.

He received his education at his family’s home until high school, when he attended Seton Catholic Central. His love of football was too strong for him to not get the chance to play with a team himself. After high school he attended SUNY Plattsburgh and from there went on to study chiropractic at Life University. Joseph and Rhiannon were married in Marietta, Georgia, Aug. 7, 2015. Joseph became a Doctor of Chiropractic in December 2015 and opened his own practice with his life partner Rhiannon in Lake Placid in June of 2016.

Some of Joseph’s most loved things are his dogs, cats, gardens, chickens and fish. He loved the mountains for both hiking and skiing. He loved cooking, boating and football Sundays. Tom Brady deserves his own sentence because Joseph absolutely loved Tom, as well as camping, hunting and Dave Matthews. Anyone who knew him knows his ability to light up a room. He made sure everyone felt his love with every interaction. His most recent accomplishment is completing the barefoot 46, beginning the legend of the #Gingergoat.

Calling hours will be held at M.B. Clark Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid on Sunday, Oct. 11, from 3 to 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held the following day, Monday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Lake Placid. Burial will be at St. James Cemetery in Cadyville at the convenience of the family.

Relatives and friends are invited to share a memory, upload a photograph or leave condolences at www.mbclarkfuneralhome.com. Those attending calling hours and/or the Mass will be asked to follow COVID-19 regulations to include social distancing, hand sanitizing and face mask use.
