Robert G. Sweet

Born in Saranac Lake on June 3, 1948, he was the son of George and Arline (Manning) Sweet. Robert married Shirley I. Cook on April 1, 1973, in Schenectady. Shirley predeceased him in 2012.

Robert drove taxi for many years in Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. He has been a resident of Plattsburgh for the last seven years.

He is survived by one son, Steven Sweet of Saranac Lake; his mother Arline Sweet of Plattsburgh; one brother, Paul Sweet of Plattsburgh; one sister, Melissa Boucher of Plattsburgh; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Harold Cook Jr.; and one sister, Phyllis Seeley.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake on Monday, Sept. 16 from noon to 2 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harold Clark officiating. Burial will take place in Brookside Cemetery in Bloomingdale.
