Patricia M. Irvine
Graveside services for Patricia M. Irvine, 81, a resident of Forest Hill Avenue, Saranac Lake, and formerly of Norwood, will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Norwood with the Rev. Msgr. John Murphy presiding.
Mrs. Irvine passed away suddenly Friday, May 1, 2015, at her home.
Patricia is survived by two sons: Bruce and his wife Mia Irvine of Bloomingdale, and Donald of Saranac Lake; a daughter, Michelle, and her husband Eric Fahl of Bloomingdale; nine grandchildren: Bruce Jr., Brittany, Amanda, David, Christa, Brandon, Bryon, Ivan and Daniel and Carrie and their daughter Maelie. Patricia is also survived by her brother Richard and his wife Marshea McCormick of Rainbow Lake and Florida, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and two lifelong friends, Eleanor Parow and Dory Post, both of Norwood.
Born in Potsdam on July 17, 1933, to the late Richard J. and Eva Levison McCormick, she married Ivan A. Irvine on Jan. 24, 1959. Ivan passed away on April 10, 1994. Patricia received a master’s degree in home economics education and taught school for 39 years, retiring from Saranac Lake Central School in 1994. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake and formerly a member of St. Andrew’s Church in Norwood. Patricia enjoyed crafts and photography and truly loved her animals.
