Kenneth E. Nason

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Kenneth Edward Nason, 92, a resident of Mooresville, North Carolina, died Tuesday, March 25, 2015, in Iredell County.

He was brn Nov. 18, 1922, in Franklin County to William and Mina Nason.

Kenneth served honorably in World War II, stationed in Hawaii, where he trained pilots in radio communication. He was a lifelong stonemason whose crowning achievement was the restoration of the College of the Atlantic (Turret Building) in Bar Harbor, Maine.

He was married to Catherine Kessel, who preceded him in death on May 3, 1996.

He is survived by his brother James Nason, daughter Mary Jayne, son Aaron and his wife Minnie, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and countless other beloved family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Catherine, his son Raymond and 10 siblings.

A graveside service with full military honors will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, May 4 at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Saranac Lake.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Regan Denny Stafford Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury.
