Betty had a rich history filled with many lively stories. She spent her early years working in several historic American hotels, including the Lake Placid Club. She also worked at Howard Johnson’s Restaurant, in different retail stores in Lake Placid and later as a homemaker. She was most happy when she was spending time with her family, gardening or hunting for treasures at garage sales. She missed her calling to be an architect since she almost always had a building project in progress or was designing one on paper.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 7 at the M.B. Clark Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday, May 8 at the M.B. Clark Inc. Funeral Home with Father Soos officiating. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Lake Placid.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for spiritual bouquets of prayers, especially in the form of offering a Catholic Mass for the repose of her soul. Donations can also be made in her memory to High Peaks Hospice.
