Nita R. St.Onge

Nita Roseann St.Onge died in Crouse Community Center on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in Morrisville. She was 94.

Mrs. St.Onge was born on March 18, 1921 in Tupper Lake to her parents, Albert and Regina Trombley. In 1940, she graduated from Holy Name Parish. She married Bernard W. St.Onge July 10, 1954. The St.Onges made Tupper Lake home with their four children. Prior to her marriage, she worked at GE in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

Mrs. St.Onge enjoyed cooking with love for people she loved, playing cards and crafting quilts and ornaments. She was a dedicated Catholic and a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Mrs. St.Onge remained pleasant, witty and thankful until the end of her wonderful life.

Mrs. St.Onge is survived by her brothers: Percy and Robert; her sister Theresa Riley; her children: Bernard (Karen) of Morrisville, (John) and Anne Laubscher of Cazenovia, (Dale) and Bette Foster of Marietta and David of Tupper Lake; grandchildren: Rebecca and Rachelle St.Onge, Allison George, Emily and Adam Laubscher, Erica Puff, David Rolley, Abigail and Lily St.Onge; and six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers: Louis and Charles; and her sisters: Elizabeth Grucelski, Rita Pentlen, Dora Hayes, Bernardette LaBarge, Florence Bressette and Patricia Trombley.

Calling hours are scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 26 at the Stuart-Fortune- Keough Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday, April 27 at the Holy Name Church in Tupper Lake. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mrs. St.Onge’s life.
