Pauline E. Durant

Pauline E. Durant, 82, of 14 Kiwassa Road, Saranac Lake, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015.

Born in Saranac Lake on May 12, 1932, she was the daughter of Cecil and Hazel (Hanmer) Tredo. Pauline married Loren Durant, who predeceased her.

Pauline was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake and had worked as a production manager at the American Management Association for over 20 years until her retirement. She was a very active volunteer at the Saranac Lake Adult Center for many years. She was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed playing bingo.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Sheffield and Linda Bowen, both of Lake Placid; two sons, Loren Durant and his wife Michelle of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Steve Durant and his wife Betsy of Olympia, Washington; one brother, Paul Tredo of Kansas City, Missouri; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A celebration of life will take place in April at the Saranac Lake Adult Center, date and time to be announced. Burial will take place at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Saranac Lake in the spring.
