Jennie Mary (Rossi) Emmons

Jennie Mary (Rossi) Emmons, 97, went to be with her Lord and passed away peacefully on Jan. 15, 2015, at her home in Pensacola, Florida.

She was born on Feb. 12, 1917, in Brooklyn to Alexander and Louisa Rossi.

After she graduated from high school, she was employed by Best & Company of New York as secretary to the buyer. She later relocated with her husband, James, to his hometown of Bloomingdale, where she resided for over 60 years. In 2006, she relocated to Pensacola to the home of her daughter, Linda Gregory.

She was married to James Lee Emmons in November 1941 in Brooklyn. He preceded her in death.

Jennie is survived by two daughters: Toni Maria (Darrell) Wells of Ellijay, Georgia, and Linda Almeda (Keith) Gregory of Pensacola; one son, William Alexander (Esther) Emmons of Johnstown; nine grandchildren: Jennifer (Greg) Seder of Chattanooga, Tennessee, D. Benjamin (Rhonda) Wells of Conway, South Carolina, Nicholas (Amy) Wells of Kensington, Maryland, James (Ashley) Gregory of Asheville, North Carolina, Calvin (Rebekah) Gregory of Pensacola, Anthony (Kristina) Gregory of Southington, Connecticut, Darren (Christie) Emmons of Johnstown, Jesse (Brenda) Emmons of Valdosta, Georgia, and Matthew (Kara) Emmons of Rapid City, South Dakota; two step-granddaughters: Kerry (Isaac) Palmisano of Valencia, California, and Victory Palmisano of Valencia, California; 19 great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
