George Gryger

George Gryger, 51, of 215 French Road, Saranac, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born in Port Washington, Long Island, on July 1, 1963, he was the son of Henry and Ruth (Haltenhof) Gryger.

George had been employed at the Mold Rite Plastics Company in Plattsburgh for over 30 years. He had a fondness for and enjoyed working on automobiles and restoring equipment. He loved nature, spending time outdoors and watching wildlife. He was an animal advocate and gave a home to many beloved pets. George’s passion was his daughter and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by one daughter, Emily Gryger of Saranac; one sister, Isabelle Korony of Paul Smiths; and three nieces and nephews: Madeline, Daniel and Allison. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17 at the Church of the Assumption in Redford. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
