Lyman ‘Red’ Rush

Lyman “Red” Rush, 82, passed away April 2, 2014, at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

He owned and operated his own plumbing business in Summit, N.J., until his retirement in 1996. He loved Saranac Lake and would spend his family vacations on Lower Saranac Lake. He moved here in 2002. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and the 82nd Airborne, serving from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean War.

He married the love of his life, Carolyn, in 1956; they were married for 42 years. She predeceased him in 1998.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Rush, and two brothers, Robert Rush of Florida and Stanton Rush of Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by his sister, Brenda Hamilton of New Jersey, several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He found such joy and peace enjoying his little house in the mountains, watching the wildlife. His heart was filled with love and laughs from his spunky yet compassionate best buddy, his dog Beanie.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. Private services will take place at the convenience of the family.
