Frances ‘Fran’ B. Cassidy

Frances “Fran” B. Cassidy, of Lake Placid, died Jan. 24, 2014, at the Mercy Living Center in Tupper Lake, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Plainfield, N.J. on Jan. 18, 1925, the daughter of Peter Lundrigan and Elizabeth Boland of St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Fran married Gerald F. Cassidy on June 9, 1946. She and her husband were the owners of the Arena Grill in Lake Placid for many years.

She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family.

She is survived by one sister, Patricia DeLucia (Carl) of Thousand Oaks. Calif.; her three sons: Rik Cassidy (Linda) of Lake Placid, Gerald F. Jr., Elk Grove, Calif. and Scott of West Palm Beach, Fla.; three daughters: Diane Richie of Schnectady, Linda Scheefer (Bob) of Saranac Lake and Vero Beach, Fla. and Kathleen Pallotta (Vito) of Vero Beach and Silver Lake; her grandchildren: Dereck, Seann, Chadd and Wyatt Cassidy (Rik), Natalia Jepson, Nolan, Roslyn and Rory Cassidy (Gerry), and Rylan and Beau Bradley Richie (Diane); as well as 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald in November 2004 and a young daughter, Patricia; her brothers: Maurice, Peter and Jack Lundrigan; and sisters, Margaret Walsh, Mabel Hearn, Alice Gillis and Beatrice Spencer.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28 at the M. B. Clark

Inc. Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. The Rev. John Yonkovig will officiate.

Her family requests that any donations be made to Mercy Living Center, Tupper Lake, in her memory.
