Ruth L. Gendron

Ruth L. Gendron, 87, of Daytona Beach, Fla. and formerly of Saranac Lake, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 30, 1926 in Saranac Lake, the daughter of Jane “Dottie” (Hutchinson) and Edmund Lamy.

She married Rene Gendron in Saranac Lake on May 24, 1947. They enjoyed 56 wonderful years together, the last 30 years living in Daytona Beach.

Survivors include her son, Robert “Bob” and daughter-in-law, Cynthia “Cindy” of Port Orange, Fla.; her grandson Travis and his wife Jennifer of Chesapeake Beach, Md.; two great-grandchildren: Tyler and Juliette, who now have “Angel Mimi” watching over them in heaven; and her sisters-in-law: Solange Verheydt of Tupper Lake, Mary-Lou Lamy of Rochester and Margaret Lamy of Virginia Beach, Va.

She was predeceased by her parents and her loving husband, Rene, in 2003. She was also predeceased by her siblings John “Buddy,” James “Jimmy” and Eugenia “Jean” and brother-in-law, John Verheydt.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the Riviera Assisted Living Facility and Gentiva Hospice for giving her the special care that she needed in her final days.

Per her request, private family services will be held at a later date in Saranac Lake.
