SARANAC LAKE –The Adirondack Stage Rats examine the issue of family in their latest production of “Painting Churches” at BluSeed Studios.

When advancing age and illness forces Fanny and Gardner Church to leave their Beacon Hill brownstone, daughter Mags makes a last visit to help with the move and –more importantly to her — to finally paint her parents’ portrait for an important one-woman show. Mags’ belief that she’s achieved artistic and emotional independence is skewered when her interaction with her eccentric, critical mother and Pulitzer-winning poet father triggers a return to the family dynamic of her childhood.

A compelling family portrait, this comedy-drama explores family relationships, creativity, and the art of remembrance.

Starring Donna Moschek, Fran Yardley and Burdette Parks, “Painting Churches,” is directed by Jordan Hornstein. Show dates and times at BluSeed Studios 24 Cedar St., Saranac Lake. are as follows:

Friday, Feb. 28 and Saturday, Feb. 29 at 7 p.m.

Sunday, March 1 at 5 p.m.

Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7 at 7 p.m.

Sunday, March 8 at 5 p.m.
