Dynamo Dawn Tyler Watson back at BluSeed Studios Sunday

SARANAC LAKE — BluSeed Studios is bringing back award-winning singer Dawn Tyler Watson and the Ben Racine Band this Sunday, Sept. 29.

Doors to the art center’s BluStage gallery open at 3:30 p.m., 24 Cedar St. The concert begins at 4.

In 2017, Dawn Tyler Watson won first place as Best Band at the international Blues Challenge and she now performs at stages and festivals worldwide. She is also is the recipient of three Canadian Maple Blues Awards including best Female Vocalist and nine Quebec Lys Blues Awards. Watson has earned the Screaming Jay Hawkins Award for Best Live Performance, a Trophées France Blues for Female International Artist of the Year, and is the 2019 Blues Blast Magazine Nominee for Best Female Artist.

Watson has an electrifying soulful sound that pushes the boundaries of traditional Blues into a whole new dimension. Her fiery stage presence has earned her national and international recognition. As Blues Review Magazine puts it, “Watson, in a nutshell, smokes. She has a kit bag full of smooth moves, and a personality that lifts off the page.”

Her artistic style is an eclectic influence of jazz, soul and gospel. She has played festivals and concert halls across four continents, recorded four albums, and appeared on numerous compilations. She has shared the stage with an array of premiere artists, including Oliver Jones, Jeff Healy, Koko Taylor, Susan Tedeschi and Cyndi Lauper.

The performance is sponsored by a BluSeed board member in honor of the late BluSeed patron Jim Hoit.

BluSeed Studios is a full-service art center that offers an intimate coffee-house type experience for all. The exhibit space currently features the work of founder Carol Marie Vossler’s extended family.

Admission for Watson’s performance is $20 for non-members and $17 for BluSeed members. For more information, call 518-891-3799 or visit www.bluseedstudios.org
