SARANAC LAKE – Funky, dubbed out, psychedelic West African music by Barika returns to Party on the Patio Thursday, Aug. 22.

Led by their grooves, Barika is wholly rhythmic, captivating audiences with the beautiful, hypnotic way in which they interweave melody and groove to create something that is not only danceable, but incredibly interesting to listen to. Barika creates a soundscape of funk soaked in psychedelic, West African resonance.

Barika is a six-piece band hailing from Burlington, Vermont lead by Craig Myers who plays the N’Goni, a stringed instrument originating in West Africa. Myers is also a current member of Mike Gordon’s band and was an original founding member of Rubblebucket.
