A cappella group to perform Saturday, Aug. 24 in Keene Valley

KEENE VALLEY — Wrensong, a touring group of a cappella singers, will bring its unique program of vocal treasures from Renaissance Europe to Keene Valley Saturday, Aug. 24 at 8 p.m.

Wrensong ranges from the secular to the religious, and its concerts often include narration aimed at giving audiences a context for their musical experience.

Their “Renaissance Sampler” illuminates the evolution of choral music through the 15th and 16th centuries. Wrensong explores the rich history of this music by performing compositions that range across time, helping music lovers hear “into” diverse music from this distant past.

This is a return trip to Keene Valley for the singers, who hail from Vermont and New Hampshire.

The concert is sponsored by East Branch Friends of the Arts, at the Keene Valley Congregational Church. Suggested donation is $10, and students are free. The concert will be followed by a reception with light refreshments.
