Celebrate Paddling Invitational coming Sunday to Saranac Lake

SARANAC LAKE – Celebrate Paddling Invitational, a new format for paddle sport competition on Lake Flower will be in town Sunday, June 30.

There will be 1-mile, 3-mile and 10-mile courses for all human powered craft and individual abilities. There will be youth and novice events, several Voyageur canoe challenges on a 1-mile course. Canoe, kayak, guide boat, SUP races will take place on a 10-mile course out to Oseetah Lake with no carries. The course will include two 1,000-meter timed sprints for special prizes — a race within a race.

There will be boat demos a used boat sales area and several vendors. The event has partnered with the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce to make this a family and community oriented festive event in the “Paddling Capital of the Adirondacks!”

Registration is at 9 a.m. with 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. star times.

The entry fee is $25 per paddler. ($20 for AWA members) Youth races are free.
