Author David Crews reading April 5

SARANAC LAKE — David Crews, an author and poet who has published a couple of Adirondack-inspired books, will take part in a poetry reading here in early April.

The reading will take place on Friday, April 5 from 5 to 7 p.m.

As part of April’s National Poetry Month, Crews and other poets will have their writings on display at NorthWind Fine Arts at 11 Woodruff St.

“My poem this year will be on display with Heidi Gutersloh’s still life painting ‘Nature’s Sheds,'” Crews wrote in a press release. “There will be other wonderful poets reading this night too, including dear friends Darla Himeles, Madeline Hennessey, Jim Bourey, Craig Milewski, and Roger Mitchell. This will be a great event as the artists at the gallery are warm and gracious hosts and it’s free and there will be a reception.”

Crews has previously written a book of Adirondack-inspired poems called “High Peaks,” and recently published a book of lyric essays entitled “Wander-Thrush.”
