‘The SantaLand Diaries’ at BluSeed

For mature audiences

SARANAC LAKE – Adirondack Stage Rats presents “The SantaLand Diaries” written by David Sedaris; adapted for the stage by Joe Montello, in the gallery space at BluSeed Studios for some mature fun to set the stage for a rousing new year.

Stage Rat producer, Karen Lewis, calls this David Sedaris classic, “a unique comedy guaranteed to wake you from your holiday sugar coma!”

The SantaLand Diaries is one man’s saga of disillusion and humiliation toiling as an elf at Macy’s SantaLand. Can savage shoppers, clueless parents, and crazed colleagues kill every vestige of hope and his belief in human decency? Or will a tiny Christmas miracle pierce the gloom of David’s most miserable Christmas ever?

Publishers Weekly deemed it “A caustic mix of J.D. Salinger and John Waters.” We agree. Come enjoy this zany one-man show, share a beverage, and perhaps pose for a photo with the elf himself!

Adirondack Stage Rats production stars Lake Placid’s Brenden Gotham. It is directed by Bonnie B. Brewer.

Mature themes and language are part of this performance.

Performances are Dec. 27, 28, 29 and 30 at 7:30 p.m. at BluSeed Studios in Saranac Lake.

Admission is $10 for adults over 21 and $2.00 for adults under 21.
