Totem art by Mary Lou Reid at the Guild
SARANAC LAKE – Mary Lou Reid will be the featured artist at the Adirondack Artists Guild in July, with an exhibit of garden ceramics of all sizes.
The show will open with a reception on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m., and it will run through Tuesday, Aug. 2.
Garden totems and decorations have been some of Reid’s major projects in recent years, and with this exhibit she takes that interest to new heights.
“I have always been intrigued by individual cairns and wondered at their meaning and their messages, and I incorporate them in my garden. Honoring their Tibetan symbolism of balance, strength and beauty, they are also symbolic of the ‘markers’ in my life, validating my direction, pointing the way home, and reminding me to stay the course.”
The public is invited to the opening reception.
