Fade to Blues Friday at Delta Blue

LAKE PLACID – Fade to Blues will perform at 9 p.m. Friday at Delta Blue inside the Hotel North Woods.

Fade to Blues exploded onto the the blues scene just north of New York City in the winter of 2006. Led by guitar player, singer, songwriter, Brian (BB) Ready the band hit the studio immediately as well as the club and festival circuit in Southern Connecticut and Westchester County, NY. Their first CD, entitled “In the Dark” hit the stores and airwaves in June of 2006 and by the end of the year they became finalists in the CT. Blues Society’s Blues Challenge, an accomplishment that was repeated in 2007 and 2008.

BB Ready’s move to the Lake Placid area in northern New York in 2009 put the band on hold until 2012 when Fade to Blues was re-formed with local musicians Dave Fisher and Jay Lamica. Since then they have been touring from the Canadian border to Cape Cod. Their second CD, “Born with the Blues” was released in January 2015 and is in regular rotation on blues radio stations across the United States and Europe.

In 2014, Fade to Blues won the Capital Region Blues Society Blues Challenge and represented Northern New York at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee in January 2015. Their CD, “Born With the Blues” represented the region at the IBC this year in the “Best Self-Produced CD” competition.

Over the years BB has played with many blues artist including, Debbie Davies, Paul Nelson (Johnny Winter), Murali Coryell, Lew Soloff (Blood, Sweat and Tears), Bruce Katz and Renault Richards (Ray Charles).

Fade to Blues’ music is hard rocking and stylistically blends genres familiar to its three members into something different, yet recognizable. BB Ready’s background is in jazz/fusion and blues. Dave Fisher’s is in funk and rock, and Jay Lamica’s is in country and rock. Together they form a tight, cohesive unit that is not afraid to take risks musically.
