Wake-Up Film Festival’s ‘Merchant of Doubt’ tonight

SARANAC LAKE – The Adirondack Green Circle presents the fifth Wake Up Film Festival, beginning tonight and continuing on March 11, and finishing on March 24.

Screenings begin at 7 p.m. at the Pendragon Theatre, 15 Brandy Brook Ave.

The films feature social, economic and environmental issues of local and global significance.

Tonight’s film,?”Merchants of Doubt,” is a satirically comedic yet illuminating ride into the heart of conjuring American spin. “Inhabit,” the film for March 11, explores the many environmental issues facing us today and examines solutions that are being applied using the ecological design process called “permaculture.” On March 24, the final film in the series is called “Just Eat It,” where filmmakers and food lovers Jen and Grant dive into the issue of food waste from farm, through retail, all the way back to their own fridge.

After each film a discussion, hosted by the Adirondack Green Circle will be held. All viewers are

invited to participate.

The suggested donation is $5 and refreshments will be available.

The Adirondack Green Circle is a regional organization involved with supporting and promoting locally grown food, increasing awareness of local, regional and global environmental issues and supporting Adirondack youth environmental groups efforts to make the Adirondacks a better place to

live.
