Art at the Pink House opens holiday gallery Friday

SARANAC LAKE – On Black Friday, millions of Americans will purchase assembly-line goods for their loved ones from the same national chains looking to cash in on the spirit of the season. You won’t find any of that at Art at the Pink House’s Holiday Gift Gallery.

Instead, the gallery, owned by artist Cris Winters, will feature unique, handmade goods crafted by several local and regional artists.

“I wanted to make a place where people could buy gifts that were different from what you can find in other stores in town, things that are handmade and things that are affordable,” Winters said of the sale. “The prices are going to range between $10 and $75, and it’s a really wide range of objects.”

The show will feature Zen Rocks by Chad Pattinson, silk scarves by Lynn Taylor, hand-dyed pillows by Pat Pauly, fabric collages by Carol Boyer and Deborah McDonald, jewelry by Linda Smyth, zip bags by Jean Poole, pottery by Andrea Hill and the work of Winters herself, which will include shoulder bags made from hand-dyed fabrics, wall hangings and more.
