SARANAC LAKE – On Saturday, June 13 at 7 p.m., poet Maurice Kenny will present Native American stories and poems. Maurice’s books will be available for purchase and signing.

Born in Watertown in 1929, Maurice’s work has been recognized in various journals including the New York Times. He was educated at Butler University, St. Lawrence University and New York University. He received the Elder Recognition Award from the Wordcraft Circle of Native Writers in 2000 and was honored with an honorary doctorate by St. Lawrence University in 1995. Recently, in 2014, he was inducted into the New York State Writers Hall of Fame.

This program is open to the public and a $5 donation is requested. Refreshments will be served.
