SARANAC LAKE — Keith and Marge Murphy stood next to their front yard display of the “Lake Flower Goats and Friends” at their home on Lake Flower Avenue in Saranac Lake on Thursday, where one sign said “Brrr!!!” and another said, “To the barn we go!”

The popular animals were making their way to the barn as the chilly weather set in.

“They’ll re-appear on and off through the winter, but for now, they’re going to take a break, as are we,” Keith said.

Marge said they use the display as a fun and creative way to showcase what was going on in the community.

“One thing led to the next and now we have this whole menagerie of animals. People kept giving them to us,” Keith said.

The couple said they are frequently approached by various organizations in the area asking them to promote — by way of display goat — their cause, which they are happy to consider.

“It makes it easier for us, because we don’t have to start from scratch and create something,” Keith said.
