Boil water order still in effect on Woodruff Street
SARANAC LAKE — As of 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, the village of Saranac Lake still had a boil water order in effect for Woodruff Street, between Broadway and Church Street. The order was issued shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday due to a water main break.
Department of Public Works Superintendent Dustin Martin said Thursday morning that a valve broke during a scheduled shutdown a day earlier to remove another valve. Part of Broadway near Woodruff Street was closed Wednesday while crews worked on the situation, which included flushing the hydrant at the corner of Woodruff and Church streets.
Martin said he expects to hear back by late Thursday afternoon whether the boil water order will be lifted. Woodruff Street residents will be notified when this happens.
