Rainbow Lake woman arrested with 100 bags of heroin, fentanyl

TUPPER LAKE — Tupper Lake police charged Elisabeth A. Cass, 31, of Rainbow Lake with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, all felonies, as well as seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors, and possession of a controlled substance outside of its original container, a violation, on Tuesday.

Police said they responded to a complaint of a person refusing to leave a residence and causing a disturbance. After a brief investigation, Cass was found to be in possession of 100 bags of heroin and fentanyl. She was also found to be in unlawful possession of buprenorphine. Cass was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Tupper Lake Village Court at a later date, according to police.
