SARANAC LAKE — Third Thursday ArtWalks are back for the first full summer since 2019 starting this Thursday, June 16.

Organized and hosted by Saranac Lake ArtWorks and the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, the 2022 ArtWalks series will be held along the streets of downtown Saranac Lake from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on June 16, July 21, Aug. 18 and Sept. 15. There are already over 30 artists signed up for June — painters, musicians, quilters, authors, jewelers, photographers, tarot card readers, wood carvers and more.

“We are thrilled to have artists from past years returning in 2022 for our first full summer of ArtWalks since 2019,” said Sandra Hildreth, president of Saranac Lake ArtWorks. “There are also quite a few first time artists signed up. It’s exciting to see these events grow every year.”

Kuf Knotz & Christine Elise, a hip-hop harp duo, will play at the Berkeley Green Bandshell from 5 to 7:30 p.m., and other musicians — Alan Simon, Blessid Dirt, Wayne Falling, Echo and Kevin Wooley — will perform along the sidewalks throughout the evening.

The Canoodlers, a Winter Carnival favorite, will also make an appearance at the June 16 ArtWalk in honor of Celebrate Paddling ADK month.

Registration for the Third Thursday ArtWalks will remain open throughout the summer and is free for artists of all backgrounds and skill levels.

ArtWorks and Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will also host two ArtMarkets on July 30 and Sept. 24. These events will take place at Riverfront Park next to the Lake Flower boat launch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. ArtWorks members can participate for free and will have registration priority. Registration can be completed online at saranaclakeartworks.org/artmarkets.
