‘Mountain Mudfest’ slated April 2

SARANAC LAKE — The Women’s Civic Chamber and Hex and Hop Brewery are bringing a new family-friendly event to Saranac Lake. Organizers hope this new festival will become annual.

Next Saturday, April 2, the first-ever Mountain MudFest arrives at the Mt. Pisgah Recreation Area.

Planned for rain, snow or shine, the highlight of this event is a cornhole tournament with a winning trophy, medals and cash awards for the top three finishing teams. Registration fees from this “Cornament,” — as the organizers are calling it — along with a percentage of each participating local vendor’s proceeds will go to the Women’s Civic Chamber and two other local organizations, the Saranac Lake Youth Center’s Building Capital Campaign and the Interfaith Food Pantry.

The event will include live music by the Midnight Stargazers and 80k Players. Food will be offered for sale by ADK Street Eats and locally-brewed beer and mead will be available through Hex and Hop Brewing. There will be a play area, with family-friendly games and activities. ADK ArtRise and Adirondack Brick will be on-site with activities and crafts for children. The Tri-Lakes Humane Society will be in attendance to introduce the community to some of their current clients.

Mountain MudFest will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the cornhole tournament beginning at 1 p.m. Admission is free, but there is a $40 registration fee for participation in the Cornament. Anyone interested in participating can register for the cornament in advance at https://linktr.ee/mountainmudfest.
