SARANAC LAKE — Big Boss Sausage will perform at Bitters and Bones on Feb. 11 and 12 at 5 p.m. in a show that organizers say is “poised for all the hoedown exuberance and jollification that participants can muster.”

Big Boss Sausage plays a wide range of styles, including rock, pop, funk, alternative country, dance, folk, bluegrass and super-disco space-groove, all from a variety of decades.

Big Boss Sausage shows have been a part of Saranac Lake’s Winter Carnival for decades. Members of the Sausage have performed with the Samples, Rusted Root, Jo-Jo Russell and Phish.

The band will be pumping up their new dance craze, “Ice whacking in the Fjords.” The show will also include the “Break Dance off of the Jolted Woodsman” and crowning of “the New Wave Queen of the Slush.”

“The magic of this event cannot be conveyed in the confined lines of a newspaper press release,” Sausage guitar slinger and crooner Mingo Lodge said in a press release. “One can only know of this joyous light by immersing themselves in the fountains of the glistening serendipity, that will be this engagement.”

Dancer, spinner and hooper “Sammy” Yelle will enhance the circus-like event.

In addition to the Big Boss show, the band will be supported by the 80k Players.

Games, prizes and dancing will round out the celebration.

On Saturday, at 9 p.m., after the show, there will be a “Late Night Sassified Pajama Party” at Rudy’s Scar Bar/Chalet Whiteface in Wilmington. Keyboardist Joe Biggs will host and join the rest of the band.

On Sunday, Feb. 13, Maribyrd and Mingo the Big Boss lineup will be at Rudy’s at 5 p.m.

Bitters and Bones is located at 65 Broadway in Saranac Lake. For more information, call 518-354-8270. Chalet Whiteface is located at 788 Springfield Road, Wilmington.
