Free fowlin’

Dr. Darci Beiras, Adirondack Health’s chief medical officer, hands a turkey to Erik Covey, who works in the hospital’s plan operations department while Director of Nutritional Services Carl Bowen looks on. Adirondack Health handed out 760 turkeys, 200 pies and 125 bags of apples to its employees on Tuesday, ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, as a gesture of employee appreciation. Bowen said some employees chose to donate the food back, which the hospital then donates to local food pantries.
