Age: 59
Occupation: Retired New York State Police senior investigator
Position sought: Harrietstown town justice
Q: Why are you running for this position?
A: I have always felt that we all need to serve our community in some way. I believe I can be fair and impartial while helping people deal with the issues that come before the court. I have always had great respect for the position of town justice, and for the many individuals I have known in those positions over the years. Out of respect for each of them, I have long been interested in also holding this office.
Q: What are your qualifications?
A: I have 31 years of experience in law enforcement as a trooper/investigator/senior investigator with the State Police. This has been enhanced by my experience as an adjunct instructor of forensic science at North Country Community College and owning a forensic consulting business.
Q: What are your main goals?
A: Fairness and do well for the people of the town of Harrietstown. A town justice should not have an agenda. Cases should be decided on their merits, not upon issues I need to address. Having said this, if you are talking about challenges before the court, then I would say that balancing bail reform with the safety of society is a primary issue.
Q: Other comments to voters?
A: I have tried to live my life right and fair. I recognize the difference between right and wrong, but also acknowledge that sometimes the line between the two can be hard to find. I will try to be fair and balanced in dealing with issues brought before the court.

Age: 40
Occupation: Harrietstown court clerk
Position sought: Harrietstown town clerk and tax collector
Q: Why are you running for this position?
A: I have greatly enjoyed working at the town hall and I see this position as an opportunity to be more involved with the public.
Q: What are your qualifications?
A: I have been the Harrietstown court clerk since 2014, and the deputy town clerk for two years. I have had two years collecting taxes and learning everything I can from the current Clerk Patty Gillmett.
Q: What are your main goals?
A: My main goal is just to keep the day-to-day business of the town of Harrietstown running as smoothly as it has been for the previous years. Also to be available to the public to assist and answer any questions they might have. The town runs very smoothly and everyone in the office works together to keep things that way. Tax collection is a huge part of the town clerk’s job and I hope to be available to the taxpayers during tax time as much as possible and am always here to answer questions.
Q: Other comments to voters?
A: I would greatly appreciate your support on Nov. 2!
