SARANAC LAKE — For the first time in more than 18 months, Pendragon Theatre will present a season of productions, live and indoors.

The season runs from Aug. 5 through Sept. 19. Details and tickets can be found at www.pendragontheatre.org.

The first production, beginning Aug. 5, will tackle an 80-minute adaptation of the classic novel, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.” The production is presented by the Camp Pendragon program.

Then, Pendragon will present “An Iliad,” a modern, comedic and highly stylized retelling of the Trojan War — Achilles, Hector, Helen — in an 85-minute performance.

In September, as a co-production with the ADK Stage Rats, Pendragon will present “Lost Lake,” a funny and heart-breaking play about a disheveled cabin owner, and a renter from the city with problems of her own, as each person struggles to find connection in an imperfect world.

To close the season, Pendragon welcomes New Light Theater Project’s production of “Hitler’s Tasters” beginning Sept. 15, a show that has toured around the country. Based on true events and using an anachronistic retelling of a historical footnote, the play examines the young women forced to taste Hitler’s food for poison.

“Lost Lake” and “Hitler’s Tasters” contain adult language and content.

The full cast and teams of each production can be found at www.pendragontheatre.org/2021-summer-season.html. There are COVID-19 restrictions for the indoor summer season, which include requiring all ticket buyers to present proof of vaccination (either hard copy or through the Excelsior app). There will not be an intermission for any shows, and there will be limited tickets as seating will not be sold to full capacity.

Pendragon Theatre is located at 15 Brandy Brook Ave., Saranac Lake.
