LAKE PLACID — The hours of operation for Lake Placid’s shuttle between Station Street and Main Street have changed.

Effective this past Saturday, the shuttle started rolling at 10 a.m., rather than 6 a.m. The shuttle still runs until 6 p.m., according to Mayor Art Devlin. After that, people can catch a ride on the free Placid Xprss shuttle, which stops at the Station Street lot until 9 p.m. every day with the exception of Sunday, when that shuttle ends service at 4 p.m.

The Station Street shuttle circles between the parking lot behind the Lake Placid-North Elba Historical Society’s History Museum on Station Street and Main Street every 15 to 20 minutes, with set stops at the history museum, the Olympic Center complex, the municipal parking lot across from NBT Bank, and the north end of Main Street near One Main Park and Players sports bar. The shuttle is free to ride.

The village recently launched a web app that shows riders where the bus is at any given time. Anyone can access the app by visiting tinyurl.com/mainstreetshuttletracker.
