LAKE PLACID — A two-week arts festival is coming to Lake Placid this summer, featuring concerts by the likes of Chris Thile, Judith Hill, Joan Osbourne, the Gibson Brothers and Martin Sexton.

The Open Sky Arts Festival, hosted by the Lake Placid Center for the Arts, will run from Aug. 2 to 15 at the North Elba Show Grounds. It will feature Grammy Award-winning musicians Thile and Hill, Grammy-nominated singer Osborne, North Country bluegrass legends the Gibson Brothers with their Mockingbird electric band, and Sexton, who grew up in Syracuse and has a seasonal home in the Saranac Lake area.

The lineup also includes musicals, orchestral performances, children’s programs, dance programs and a movie screening.

The Songs at Mirror Lake free concert series, usually hosted downtown at Mid’s Park, will also be at the show grounds during this festival.

Ticket sales for the festival begin June 1, with a pre-sale on festival passes for LPCA members, which will open up to the general public on June 7. Festival passes, which open access to all 18 festival shows — six of those shows are free — cost $200 each. Tickets for individual shows will go on sale starting June 14. Prices for individual show tickets have not yet been announced.

“We at the LPCA couldn’t let another summer go by without providing our local community members and summer visitors the opportunity to safely come together and experience some amazing performances in our spectacular environment,” LPCA’s Executive Director James Lemons wrote in a statement. “The lineup really reflects what we do at the LPCA every season — provide the opportunity for everyone to find something they enjoy together with their friends and family.”

The LPCA is “evaluating the latest public health guidelines from New York state and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,” according to a news release from LPCA. Updates will be posted at www.lakeplacidarts.org.

Tickets for all events will be available by calling the LPCA Box Office at 518-523-2512 or visiting the LPCA website.
