Franklin County LDC hires premier firm for branding, website

MALONE — The Franklin County Local Development Corporation recently held a work session to receive an update from a national-level economic development marketing consultant it hired for its branding and website development project.

Development Counsellors International’s senior director of digital and brand strategy, Patience Fairbrother, explained that she and her team have completed the discovery phase of the project and are working on the design of the brand and the website. She provided an overview of Franklin County’s value proposition and key messages, and also explained the next steps of the project.

The Franklin County LDC hired DCI in September after receiving over 100 proposals from marketing and website development firms from across the country and around the world. The 60-year-old DCI has headquarters in New York, Denver, Toronto and Los Angeles. Its experience in economic development marketing, along with its long and diverse client list, led the LDC Board of Directors to hire the firm to assist with the development of a new brand and economic development website.

DCI specializes in tourism, economic development and talent attraction marketing. It has worked for more than 500 cities, counties, regions and states.

The Franklin County LDC did not specify how much money it is giving DCI for its services. Franklin County gives the Franklin County LDC occupancy tax revenue from hotel and vacation rental stays to further promote the county to potential visitors.
