Where, when and how to get food

To avoid spreading the coronavirus, many food providers and meal programs have changed their operations. Here’s a rundown on where, when and how you can get food locally.

Aldi

Aldi on Lake Flower Avenue in Saranac Lake is offering online ordering, curbside pickup and potential delivery for some customers. In-person shopping is still ongoing.

Nori’s

Nori’s Village Market on Church Street in Saranac Lake is offering curbside/parking lot delivery to your car. Call (518) 891-6079 to place your orders.

Tops

Tops Friendly Market on Church Street in Saranac Lake has special hours exclusively for senior citizens Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 a.m. before the regular hours start.

Hannaford

Hannaford on Saranac Avenue in Lake Placid will have an exclusive senior citizen hour Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays mornings from 6 to 7 a.m. Regular store hours temporarily changed to 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Price Chopper

Price Chopper on Saranac Avenue in Lake Placid will have an exclusive senior citizen hour every day from 6 to 7 a.m.

Saranac Lake

Farmers Park-it

The Saranac Lake Farmers Market will take orders online and will have curbside pickup every Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The pickup location is at the rear entrance to the Hotel Saranac on Academy Street. The link to the online order form can be found on the “Saranac Lake Farmers’ Park-It” Facebook page.

Interfaith Food Pantry

The Saranac Lake Interfaith Food Pantry on the corner of Church Street and Bloomingdale Avenue (across the street from Stewarts) will remain open and continue food deliveries. You can also pick up meal packages Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon.

Methodist Church

Volunteers from the First United Methodist Church in Saranac Lake are offering a grocery delivery service for seniors and those who are most vulnerable. They will take orders by phone on Mondays and deliver every Tuesday from Tops Friendly Market in Saranac Lake between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. To register, call 518-891-3473.

The church will reopen its community suppers April 1 for delivery only. Dinner is served every Wednesday between 4 and 6 p.m. Call 518-891-3473 before 4 p.m., leave a name and how many meals you need. The church will deliver to your door.

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Saranac Lake will continue its community lunchbox program through take-out meals only. Food is served between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays at the church’s Parish Hall on Main Street.
