Working Families Party endorses Braymer for Assembly

GLENS FALLS — The New York Working Families Party has endorsed Claudia Braymer as its candidate for the 114th Assembly District seat being vacated by Assemblyman Dan Stec.

Braymer, 39, of Glens Falls, will now be eligible to be listed on the ballot for both the Democratic and Working Families party lines. The Working Families Party endorsed her after a candidate review process that included her completion of a lengthy questionnaire on a variety of issues and a personal interview discussing her policy positions.

In addition, Braymer is endorsed by all four of the district’s Democratic committees, in Warren, Washington, Essex and Saratoga counties.

Other candidates in the race are Democrat Evelyn Wood, former Thurman town supervisor, and two Republican members of the Warren County Board of Supervisors: Doug Beaty of Queensbury and Matt Simpson of Horicon. Braymer, a lawyer, is in her third term on the Warren County Board of Supervisors representing Glens Falls Ward 3.

Candidates were to start collecting petition signatures to get on the ballot on Tuesday.
