Nancy Howard Heath is queen

The 2020 Saranac Lake Winter Carnival queen was born in Saranac Lake, and graduated from Saranac Lake Central School.

She served in the United States Air Force as a jet engine mechanic, obtaining the rank of sergeant.

She attended North Country Community College and graduated with a degree in business.

Her volunteering spans many years and many organizations. She is a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, serving as a lector and eucharistic minister. She served in many capacities at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomingdale. She coached girls softball for many years. She has served many years on the Overlook Senior Housing Board. She is a longtime member of the Saranac Lake Pee Wee Hockey Association, serving in many capacities.

She has been a longtime member of the Saranac Lake Civic Center Board of Directors. She has been a member of the Saranac Lake Women of the Moose for over 20 years. She has earned her degree of Academy of Friendship with the Moose Club. She has served on the Bloomingdale Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxillary.

She enjoys spending time with her family, kayaking, golfing or just sitting around a bonfire in the summer. She likes to skate and snowshoe in the winter.

She retired from the state Adirondack Park Agency and has been keeping herself very busy ever since. She has been the tax collector for the town of St. Armand since 2006.

She is the daughter of Tim and Mildred, and has five older brothers and sisters.

She is a member of the infamous Saranac Lake High School Class of 1974.

She has been married to Rick for over 42 years. They have three children: Jason and his wife Jennell, Ericka and her husband Cameron, and Christie. She has six fabulous grandchildren who call her Bamma: Michael, Dylan, Heath, Jacob, Rory and Andrea.

The 2020 Winter Carnival queen is Nancy Howard Heath.
