Sprucing up fir the holidays
SARANAC LAKE — The village Department of Public Works’ winter duties includes more than just plowing the roads.
They are also tasked with planting small Christmas trees in pots and distributing the holiday decorations around town. On Monday Nathan Hough, Jay Bradish and David Sofield were in Berkeley Green, placing the evergreens in large pots and filling them with dirt from a backhoe.
These trees will be decorated by members of the downtown advisory board Tuesday and then distributed around town.
Six will stay in Berkeley Green, two will go to Vest Pocket Park, two will be placed around Bitters and Bones and four will sit along the Riverwalk.
