Sinfonietta plays ‘Great Cinema Classics’ in park

LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid Sinfonietta 2019 season continues with a Park Series concert Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Paul White Memorial Shell in Mid’s Park downtown.

The concert, “Great Cinema Classics” is free and open to the public and will last approximately one hour.

If weather does not allow an outdoor performance, the concert will be moved to St. Agnes Church on Saranac Avenue and will begin at 7:15. Announcements of a change in location will be posted by 5 p.m. on Facebook, Twitter at LPSinfonietta, or by calling 518-523-2051.

The concert will feature selections that are connected to the world of film.

Conducting this concert will be Maestro Kynan Johns, the first of three conductors appearing with the orchestra this summer in auditions for the position of Lake Placid Sinfonietta music director.

Limited seating is available in the park, so patrons are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs to sit on.
