Nori’s honored as Business of the Year in Saranac Lake

SARANAC LAKE — Nori’s is the 2019 Business of the Year, the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday.

The grocery and health food store and cafe is 30 years old this year, employs almost 30 people and completed a major renovation and expansion in January. Its slogan is “good food naturally,” and its mission is “to deliver healthy, organic, and locally grown and produced foods to the greater Saranac Lake community,” according to the chamber.

Nori’s will be honored at the chamber’s 98th Annual Dinner on June 19 at Dewey Mountain Recreation Center. Other awards and recognitions will be announced at the dinner, including the Citizen of the Year and Volunteer of the Year. Tickets cost $45 and include a barbecue buffet dinner, lawn games, a silent auction and an open bar from 6 to 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the Saranac Lake Welcome Center at the Harrietstown Town Hall, 30 Main St., over the phone at 518-891-1990 or online at slareachamber.org/events.

Proceeds from the dinner will support the chamber’s “Energizing Entrepreneurs” high school scholarship fund.
