Tupper Lake student art, music displayed for voters

TUPPER LAKE — Teachers and students are working to fill the halls of the Tupper Lake Middle-High School with art projects while the music department readies for their performances. Months of preparation and weeks of displaying led up to Tuesday.

It is the day when residents of the Tupper Lake Central School District come to the middle-high school each year to vote on the budget for the next school year, as well as for school board members and other ballot measures. In Tupper Lake, it is also a showcase for student creativity, when the work and talent of pre-K through 12th-grade students from throughout the school year will be on display.

Projects include drawings, ceramic works, photographs, sculptures and paintings. And once again, high school students will paint live throughout the evening.

New this year will be face painting for kids.

Another highlight of the evening is the annual Community/Alumni Concert that will begin at 6:30 p.m. Members of the student band and chorus, along with alumni and other community members will perform in the gymnasium. Anyone who would like to perform with one or both groups is asked to contact Laura Davison, laurad@tupperlakecsd.net, or Liz Cordes, elizabethc@tupperlakecsd.net, or call the school for more information.
