LAKE PLACID — The 2019 results for 28th annual Ice Out Benefit, sponsored by the Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service, are as follows:

First place: Paul Reiss, 2 hours, 40 minutes off
Second place: Megan Baker and friends, 3 hours, 44 minutes off
Third place: Julie Smith: 4 hours, 44 minutes off
Fourth place: Carol Gates: 5 hours, 26 minutes off
Fifth place tie: Olivia Reynolds and Andrew Golluzlio , 6 hours, 22 minutes off
Ice Meisters: Jack Irvin, Jenn Holdereid and Theresa Brady, following criteria and records from 1903

Second place: Michelle Amato: 3 hours, 45 minutes off

“Congratulations to the winners and big thank you to the diligent Ice Meisters whobraved the cold, dark, wind, snow and rain to keep checking the ice disappearing,” organizers said in a press release. “It was (a) tough year weather wise and we appreciate their faithful for many years of Ice Meister service.”
Organizers would like to acknowledge help from ticket vendors; ticket sellers, especially Steve Detwiler and Betty Hunkins; ticket purchasers (more than 560 this year); Lori Dudley for the poster; Jim Shea, the ticket tabulator; and Mary Kelley and Mary Hardy for their help with this fundraiser for the LPVAS.
