Rain and snowmelt have pushed the Saranac River up a few inches over the floor of the dining porch of the former Dew Drop Inn by late Friday afternoon. This porch is considered a mark of whether water is approaching flood stage, but downstream in Bloomingdale, the river was receding as of Friday evening, according to Moose Pond Road resident Daun Reuter.
