NCCC hosts Pottery Open House today

SARANAC LAKE — North Country Community College will host a Pottery Open House at the Saranac Lake campus from noon to 6 p.m. today.

The open house is an opportunity to learn more about the art of making pottery and the spring 2019 pottery class being offered at the college.

“We are excited to invite the college community and the community at large to this open house,” said Tina LaMour, an associate professor and the college’s Art Department coordinator. “We have made some important changes to the course this semester with the future in mind as far as clay and glazes go and we would love to share that. Susan Hoffer, our pottery instructor, has gone out of her way to ensure a successful course and that journey began during the summer months.”

The open house will include refreshments, demonstrations and finished pots for sale. Attendees can also try throwing and glazing a pot.

The spring pottery class on the Saranac Lake campus will be held on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., from Jan. 22 through May 9. For details, or to register, call 1-888-TRY-NCCC.
