On Friday night, Thomas Hetherington, 46 of Middlesex, lost control of his snowmobile on the Brown Tract Road near Raquette Lake and hit a tree, police said. Fellow riders attempted to resuscitate him, but Hetherington was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hamilton County coroner.

The same night, a 23-year-old New Jersey man named Jonathan Black died in a snowmobile crash in the town of Webb.

On Sunday, an 18-year-old Adams man was killed when his snowmobile hit a tree in Lewis County. Luke Tyrrell’s snowmobile went off the trail, through a ditch and hit a tree, police said.
