Real turkey trot

Why did the turkey cross the road? To get away from humans. At least that’s why this wild turkey is running across a road in Bloomingdale Tuesday. Speaking of turkey trots, runners and walkers can join one to burn off a few calories in any Tri-Lakes village on Thanksgiving Day. In Lake Placid, the Adirondack Health Turkey Trot (5K) starts at 8:30 a.m. at the Olympic Speedskating Oval. In Tupper Lake, the Erin Farkas Dewyea Turkey Trot (5K and 10K) starts at 9 a.m. at Washington Street Park. In Saranac Lake, the Bitters & Bones Turkey Trot (5K) starts with registration from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. (Enterprise photo — Aaron Cerbone)
